A la sortida del segon t\u00fanel trobarem la desviaci\u00f3 a la dreta per accedir al seu nucli urb\u00e0. L\u2019elegant poble d\u2019Almandoz es troba acomodat en la vessant oest del mont de Santa B\u00e0rbara, conegut per les seves c\u00e8lebres pedreres, i del qual es diu que prov\u00e9 el marbre que llueix el Kremlin de la Pla\u00e7a Roja de Mosc\u00fa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/viatgeslowtravel.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/12\/a5220-image-1658.png?w=580\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3406\" \/><figcaption><em>Ubicaci\u00f3 dins la vall<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En terreny accidentat i rodejat de fagedes i pics que sobrepassen els 1000 metres (Abartan, Txaruta, Garmendi,&#8230;), resulta dif\u00edcil de divisar des de la major part de la Comarca, tot i que l\u2019encant de les seves casones, talles i escuts b\u00e9 que mereixen una visita reposada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aix\u00ed \u00e9s: el poble va mer\u00e8ixer el Premi Nacional d\u2019Embelliment de 1.969, com a mostra del zel dels seus ve\u00efns per la cura i neteja de cases i carrers. La millor mostra la tenim en la fa\u00e7ana de la casa Etxotoa, en la que el seu propietari va fer-hi una espectacular demostraci\u00f3 de talla en fusta, esculpint cada nervi i pilar de la mateixa, i que val la pena admirar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hist\u00f2ricament, s\u2019ha tractat d\u2019un important lloc de pas, ja des de 1.406 quan es projecten els camins de carreteres Pamplona-San Sebasti\u00e1n, i encara m\u00e9s entre 1.844 i 1.847, quan s\u2019obren els camins Reials, antecedent immediat de les actuals carreteres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/viatgeslowtravel.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/12\/bf17b-image-1659.png?w=580\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3408\" \/><figcaption><em>Iglesia de San Pedro<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Almandoz, ubicat a 450m d\u2019al\u00e7ada (el poble m\u00e9s alt de la vall), \u00e9s el primer assentament baztan\u00e8s venint des de Pamplona per Belate, a trav\u00e9s de la NA.121 en direcci\u00f3 a Fran\u00e7a.
